Bullitt, the England-based company that is the global licensee for Caterpillar Inc. has launched Cat S60 android smartphone in India. Talking about the features, the mobile comes with world’s first integrated thermal camera, waterproof that can go to depths of up to 5 meters, and beyond military specification built.

Before getting into the mobile specification, let’s talk about the pricing. Well for a tough mobile like Cat S60 the price tag would be on the higher side. The mobile comes with a price tag Rs 64,999 placing it in the elite super-premium range. The mobile will be available on Amazon and offline multi-brand outlets across India starting 17th March 2017.

The Cat S60 is a super tough and robust smartphone that even exceeds military specifications. Some of its tough properties include the mobile to withstand drops from 1.8m. The mobile is IP68 certified which makes it dustproof, shockproof and waterproof. The device can also survive depths of up to 5 meters for 60 minutes. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that’s compatible with the glove and wet-finger touches.

Talking about the integrated thermal camera, with Cat S60 you can have live thermal imaging of your surrounding. It uses MSX Technology from FLIR that allows you to capture thermal imagery, video and even time-lapse footage. As for the use of a thermal camera, you can detect heat loss around windows and doors, spot moisture and missing insulation, identify overheating cable and see in complete darkness. The camera’s thermal imagery technology can even penetrate through thick smoke areas.

Specification and Features

Going through the specification, the Cat S60 flaunts a 4.7-inch a-Si AHVA HD display. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. For storing all your thermal images and videos, the mobile carries 32GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

On the back, the Cat S60 boast a 13-megapixel FLIR thermal camera featuring dual flash. Up front, we got a 5-megapixel camera. As for connectivity, the mobile supports 4G LTE network with only limited availability for Indian 4G bands (Jio 4G will work). Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC and micro-USB 2.0. To fuel the whole device, it carries a non-removable 3800mAh Lithium Ion battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support. Finally, the mobile runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
