Taking clues from the instant hit and the original OnePlus Nord, which was launched a year before, OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. As the name suggests, it 5G-ready (thus future proof), gets Snapdragon 750G SoC, 90Hz AMOLED display and a triple array camera module t the rear.
One more thing, according to the company, it’s one of the slimmest smartphone (7.9mm thin) since the launch of the OnePlus 6T way back in 2018. It’s lighter with only 170g weight and even gets the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack. However, it does miss out on one of the OnePlus unique features the alert slider.
The price of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G starts at Rs 22,999 in India for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Then we have the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model priced at Rs 24,999. You can max out the phone with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which is priced at Rs 27,999. For colour choices, you get to choose from Blue Void, Charcoal Ink, Silver Ray.
Open sales for all three variant of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will start on June 16the 2020. You could purchase the same, exclusively through Amazon India and OnePlus India online stores.
Let’s talk about OnePlus Nord CE 5G
As said earlier, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is one of the slimmest in the market. It features a plastic frame along with a plastic rear part (thus making it lighter when compared to the glass rear in the original OnePlus Nord). The phone flaunts a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED Full HD display (1,080×2,400 pixels) with a 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a small cut-out at the top-left side of the screen, which houses the front camera.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G gets powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G mobile platform coupled with Adreno 619 GPU. The phone packs up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.1 storage. Do note that, there is no expandable storage option available with the smartphone. The phone runs on Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11.
Time to shoot?
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G comes with a triple camera array at the rear. This includes the 64MP primary camera module featuring f/1.79 aperture, 8MP Ultra Wide camera with f/2.25 aperture and a 2MP Mono Lens with f/2.4 aperture. Behind the scenes of every shot you take, the phone packs a series of algorithms and AI interpretation to bring up the colour, contrast, and exposure to optimum levels. The cameras also feature multi-autofocus with PDAF and CAF.
At the front, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G features a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera with EIS and f/2.45 aperture.
5G network might not be available in India just yet, but whenever 5G is ready, you would be the first to use it. Other connectivity options in OnePlus Nord CE 5G include 4G LTE with VoLTE and VoWiFi, 4×4 MIMO, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4G/5G), Bluetooth 5.1 with support for aptX, aptX HD, LDAC and AAC, NFC and NavIC (India’s navigation system or GPS alternative). The phone comes with dual nano-SIM support and got an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Finally, coming to the battery, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G packs a 4500mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30T Plus for fast charging. You could charge the phone from 0 to 70 per cent in just 30 minutes.
