After the recent introduction of five new rate cutter SMS STVs, Govt owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revised this SMS STVs to add up free fixed SMS to the pack instead of offering reduced per SMS rates.
Presently this rate cutter SMS STVs offer BSNL prepaid 2G and 3G customers with Local/National On-net SMS at 0.5p/SMS and Off-net SMS at 7p/ SMS to 10p/SMS, which is now revised to free fixed number of local and national SMS with different validity options.
According to the revised rate cutter SMS STVs priced at Rs 12 (STV12), Rs 24 (STV 24), Rs 31 (STV 31), Rs 52 (STV 52) and Rs 83 (STV 83), BSNL now offers 130 SMS, 265 SMS, 385 SMS, 860 SMS and 1650 SMS respectively with local and national SMS to any network.
In addition BSNL has also introduced an new SMS STV for text savvy customers with STV147 (Rs 147) which offer 3000 free local and national SMS to any network.
The revised SMS tariff is applicable up to 100 SMS per day only in accordance with TRAI SMS regulation and all SMS beyond 100 SMS per day will be charged at Rs.0.50/SMS or SMS charges as per Base Tariff whichever is higher. The new revised SMS STVs will come into effect from 15th August, 2013 for pan India prepaid customer base.
