To withstand the intense competition raised by Chinese rivals, Micromax backed Indian mobile vendor YU has been launching new android smartphones back-to-back this year. After the launch of YU Yureka Black in May 2017, the company is back with a new android smartphone – YU Yunique 2. It’s a successor to the two-year-old YU Yunique and comes with much-needed hardware and software improvements.

The YU Yunique 2 is priced in the budget-segment with a price tag of Rs 5,999. The mobile will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting 27th July 2017 at 12 PM. You can expect some exclusive offers from Flipkart and Micromax during the launch day.

YU Yunique 2 Specifications and Features

Design-wise the YU Yunique 2 spots a premium look with metal back featuring a pattern for better grip. The mobile will be available in two popular colour options – Champagne Gold and Coal Black. On the front, the mobile flaunts a 5-inch HD IPS 1280×720 display which is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. Inside the mobile, you get a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6737 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Mali T720-MP1 GPU clocked at 650Mhz. To store all your media content, the mobile carries 16GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

YU Yunique 2 launched with 13MP camera, 2GB RAM and 4G VoLTE

Coming to photography the YU Yunique 2 boasts a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash support. For selfie addicts, the mobile carries a 5-megapixel fixed focus camera. As for connectivity, the mobile support 4G LTE networks that work with every Indian telco 4G bands. In addition, you also get VoLTE support for making HD voice and video calls. You also get 3G and 2G network option along with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The mobile runs on the latest Android Nougat 7 OS with minimal skin over the top. The phone gets its power from a 2,500mAh battery which can offer up to 11 hours of talk time.

Yu has partnered with Truecaller app integrating it with YU Yunique 2’s phone dialer. This allows you to have caller ID features and spam detection. There will also be Truecaller Pay integration which offers UPI-based mobile payment service within Truecaller.
