Now no more waiting long hours on railway stations looking out for trains, get exact location and realtime status of your trains on a Google interactive map. Indian railway’s Centre for Railway Information Service (CRIS) and RailYatri team has unveiled a web application named ‘RailRadar‘ which allows users to watch every movements of trains which are currently running in India on an interactive map powered by Google Maps.

RailRadar - Get Realtime Tracking on Indian Railway Trains

RailRadar offers real-time data for 6,500 passenger trains of the Indian Railways, out of 10,000 trains that operate. The we app allows searching for a particular station or train, to get specific details of trains around the station or running status of a train, its location, routes and stops. It uses color code method to show the status of the train, blue color arrows indicate trains that are running on time while the red arrow indicate the trains that are delayed or behind schedule. Clicking on the arrow symbol of the train displays an info box with the name of the train, its number, last update, next halt, and last status. Location, and status of trains shown on the map are typically 5 and more mins delayed from the real-time.

Users can access this facility by going to RailRadar (railradar.trainenquiry.com). The service is also available on mobile phones through the phone’s internet browser.
