Barely five months after the launch of OnePlus 7 series, the smartphone vendor OnePlus’ has launched its latest flagship android smartphone – the OnePlus 7T. Thankfully, we’re getting only one new smartphone, an upgrade to the original OnePlus 7. There won’t be a half-year refresh to the super high-end OnePlus 7 Pro.

So what changed this time with the ‘T’ addition to original OnePlus 7? OnePlus is bringing the 90Hz fluid or smooth display from its pro series to the smaller phone. In addition, you’re getting a bumped up Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and a versatile camera system.

The phone is set for September 28th, exclusively on Amazon India during the “Great Indian Festival” sale, with a price starting at Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. There is another 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant of OnePlus 7T which would cost Rs 39,999.

What’s new in OnePlus 7T

Like the OnePlus 7 Pro before it, the OnePlus 7T picks up the smooth, vivid, and incredibly immersive display with a responsive 90 Hz refresh rate. It also gets the latest HDR10+ technology and can shine up to 1,000 nits of brightness. Yet, you’re restricted to full HD+ or 1080p (1080×2400 pixels) resolution. The 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display comes with a pixel density of 402 PPI and poses the same waterdrop notch from OnePlus7.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 7T is now powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and Adreno 640 GPU. It’s then paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 2-LANE storage. The phone runs on Android 10 based Oxygen OS, with lots of customisations.

The Triple Camera

Coming to the camera part, the OnePlus 7T boasts a triple camera in a circular housing at the rear. These camera units include a 48-megapixel main shooter with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, OIS and EIS support. Second, you get the 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera which has a field of view of 117-degree and f/2.2 aperture. There is also the third 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2X zoom (which is a let down from the previous generations 3x zoom in OnePlus 7).

Another special addition to the OnePlus 7T camera is the new “Macro Mode”, which comes with it’s on special motor. With this camera mode, you could take super-close snaps, as nearer as 2.5 centimetres away.

For snapping your cute face, the OnePlus 7T packs a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX471 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. It also features EIS stabilization, which would keep your video chats or live stream smooth and steady.

Other Key Specifications

Connectivity option in OnePlus 7T includes dual nano-SIM with support for 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G and 2G network options. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4G/5G, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/AAC, NFC and USB Type-C (v3.1 Gen 1). There is an in-display optical fingerprint sensor beneath the front display for secure authentication.

For audiophiles, the OnePlus 7T comes with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos 3D enhancement. There is also the new larger haptic vibration motor that produces natural, satisfying feedback.

Finally, the OnePlus 7T is powered by a 3800 mAh battery with support for Fast Charging. The Warp Charge 30T could charge your phone from down zero per-cent to 70 per-cent in just 30-minutes.
