The wait is over, its time to move away from the buttery JellyBean to the tasty dark chocolate bar -the KitKat. Android team has now official started rolling out the latest Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system to WiFi edition of Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013 models) and Nexus 10. While 3G/mobile data enabled Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 smartphone owners need to wait couple of days for the update as its coming ‘soon’.
As always the update is rolling out in a staggered manner taking couple of days to weeks to reach all the Nexus owners. So regularly check your tablet for the OTA update. Some users have already got the OTA update, but reporting that its missing many visual enhancements found on Nexus 5.
According to a Reddit user “I was hoping for a big visual change like the nexus 5. No transparent menu, status or even app drawer. The only differences I notice are some of the icons and white status icons. The Google launcher isn’t here either, swiping to the left doesn’t reveal Google now. You also still can’t delete home pages, still the default 5. Editing a home page also isn’t like the nexus 5, the widgets are still in the app drawer.“
