Indian telecom operator Tata Teleservices which provide mobile services under the Tata Docomo and T24 Mobile brand names have migrated its telecom services to new ‘Unified Licence‘ in three telecom circles.

Tata Teleservices (TTSL) the unlisted parent company of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) has two Unified Access Service licences in Mumbai and Maharashtra telecom circle which is due for expiring in September 2017. The operator has now migrated its UAS licences in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh telecom circles to Unified Licence. This licence is valid for next twenty years effective from November 2nd, 2016.

In a filing with Indian stock exchanges, the telecom operator said “As per the guidelines announced by the Department of Telecommunications, the UAS licensing regime has been replaced with an umbrella licence called Unified Licence. In view of the above, the company had applied for migration of its UAS licences in Mumbai and Maharashtra for ISP licence to Unified Licence (UL)”.

Tata Teleservices had earlier acquired airwaves for Rs 4,619.2 crore for continuing its operations in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh telecom circle in the last spectrum auction.
