Xiaomi has partnered with Google to bring Android TV experience to Mi Smart TVs. However, this doesn’t mean they are ditching the PatchWall OS, but integrating it with Android TV. This opens up a digital world of possibilities for the range of Mi Smart TVs. So let us explore the improvements this integration brought to the Mi Smart TV.

The updated Smart TV operating system is built on Android 8.1 in which PatchWall meets Android TV. For optimized performance, Xiaomi has also unveiled a PRO Smart TV series with a new Bluetooth remote having Google Voice Search support. With the new remote you will be able to switch between the PatchWall home and Android TV home.

Xiaomi Brings Android TV Experience To Mi Smart TVs

The newly introduced Mi PRO Smart TV series include the Mi LED TV 4C Pro (32), Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49) and Mi LED TV 4 Pro (55). Out of it, Mi LED TV 4 Pro (55) is the smartest of the three featuring a 55-inch 4K HDR frameless display that’s packed in a 4.9mm ultra-thin body. It’s been priced at Rs 49,999. The Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49) on the other hand features a 49-inch full HD+ HDR display along with 20W DTS HD sound. It’s been priced at Rs 29,999. Finally, the Mi LED TV 4C Pro (32) features 32-inch HD Ready display along with 20W DTS HD sound. It’s been priced Rs 14,999. All these Mi Smart TVs runs on PatchWall with Android TV, supports Google voice search and packs more than 700,000 hours of content to watch.

We are already aware of PatchWall OS’s capabilities like content suggestion AI, set-top box integration and hours of online content from digital partners. But with Android TV integration, we can access Google Play Store, Play Music, YouTube, built-in Chromecast, voice search and more. They have also announced the addition of Amazon Prime Video to their Smart TVs.

Another good news is all existing Mi Smart TVs will get an OS update featuring the Android TV integration. However, if you are new to the Mi Smart TV, then spend some extra bucks and get the latest Mi Smart TV PRO which has more RAM (2GB) even in the base variants.
