If you are streaming lots of videos online then the best internet service provider to be with is Spectranet. According to Netflix Indian ISP Speed Index for July 2017, Spectranet ISP has topped the Speed Index chart by offering the fastest streaming speed for Netflix videos.
“Spectranet saw speeds climb up to 3.19 Mbps, up from 2.69 Mbps the month prior, reclaiming the No. 1 spot in India,” said Netflix in its blog.
On the second spot, we have the 7 Star Digital with 2.80 Mbps streaming speed. That’s still up from 2.77 Mbps speed recorded in June 2017. India’s largest telecom operator Airtel seems to be maintaining the third position in the Netflix Indian ISP Speed Index with a speed of 2.71 Mbps.
In the fourth spot, we have ATRIA Convergence Technologies with 2.62 Mbps speed. Whereas, Hathway takes the fifth spot with 2.37 Mbps speed. India’s biggest and government-owned broadband service provider BSNL ranked last in the list at 13th position with 1.37 Mbps speed. Another state-owned telco MTNL ranked second last at 12th position clocking a speed of 1.45 Mbps.

So what’s Netflix ISP Speed Index? It a list of average prime time bitrate for Netflix content streamed to Netflix users during a particular month. The prime time here been calculated by the average bitrate of Netflix content in megabits per second (Mbps) streamed by Netflix users per ISP. Do note that speed indicated in the Speed Index is not a measure of the maximum capacity of an ISP. It only a calculation of speed in streaming Netflix content via the ISP.
