Subscribed to Netflix for watching your favourite TV shows and movies? To compliment the awesome shows on Netflix you need a stable and speedy broadband connection. According to Netflix Indian ISP Speed Index for June 2017, 7 Star Digital, Internet service provider (ISP) topped the chart by offering the fastest streaming speed for Netflix videos. 7 Star Digital offered a consistent speed of 2.77 Mbps to top the chart.
On the second spot, we have the Spectranet with 2.69 Mbps streaming speed. Note that Spectranet has actually increased its speed to 2.69 Mbps, up from 2.38 Mbps in May 2017. Whereas almost all other ISP have dropped their speed. India’s largest telecom operator Airtel has dropped from first position (January 2017 leaderboard) to the third position with a speed of 2.63 Mbps.

Following Airtel, we have ATRIA Convergence Technologies in fourth spot with 2.51 Mbps speed and Hathway at the fifth spot with 2.39 Mbps speed. India’s biggest and government-owned broadband service provider BSNL ranked last in the list at 13th position with 1.26 Mbps speed.

So what’s Netflix ISP Speed Index? It a list of average prime time bitrate for Netflix content streamed to Netflix users during a particular month. The prime time here been calculated by the average bitrate of Netflix content in megabits per second (Mbps) streamed by Netflix users per ISP. Do note that speed indicated in the Speed Index is not a measure of the maximum capacity of an ISP. It only a calculation of speed in streaming Netflix content via the ISP.
