Design and Performance

OnePlus is always known for its premium design and high-quality, yet unique materials used on their phones. This time the company has gone for glass and used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back of OnePlus 6. It has smooth-rounded corners and gently curved glass. For colour choices, you get to choose from three distinct colours. This includes Mirror Black variant which is coated with a mirror sheen, giving it a look and feel of ceramic. Then there is the usual Midnight Black, which has a clean matte finish. The third variant is the Silk White colour which uses a dash of crushed pearl for a shimmering effect.

The best part, OnePlus 6 is now Water Resistant. Well, it’s not the usual water protection were you could take it out for a swim, but has a special type of foam protecting the phone’s internals. So, the mobile would survive a drop in the sink or a spilled glass of water.

OnePlus 6 sports a 6.28-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED (1080 by 2280 pixels) display taking the entire front portion leaving minimal bezels on the side. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio and has the notch like the iPhone X cutout at the top of the screen. There is also a small chin area at the bottom of the screen which holds, well nothing. Talking about the display you get both the sRGB and DCI-P3 colour calibrations. It also supports five different display modes.

Under the hood, OnePlus 6 is powered by 2.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. This CPU is paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. For storage of your files, the phone comes in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.1 2-LANE internal storage. This time also their won’t be any expandable storage option available. The phone runs on OxygenOS based on Android Oreo, which packs some cool features and smart software optimizations.
