As HMD Global, the mobile vendor behind Nokia branded smartphones is gearing up for the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, the company has slashed the prices of some of its popular android smartphones in India. The company has essentially dropped the price of Nokia 8 and Nokia 5 android smartphone by up to Rs 8000.

Starting with Nokia 8, which was launched at a premium price tag of Rs 36,999, gets a massive price cut of Rs 8,000. Thus, you can now get hold of the flagship android device for Rs 28,999. Similarly, the company has made a slight price cut of Rs 1000 on Nokia 5’s 3GB RAM variant, which will now retail for Rs 12,499. The mobile was launched in India back on 7th June 2017 with a price tag of Rs 13,499.

Though the company has confirmed the price cut for the two smartphones in India, the new prices are yet to go live on online and offline retail stores. We could expect a much faster listing of these smartphones with the price cut on Amazon and Flipkart.

Nokia 8 price slashed by Rs 8000

Nokia 8 got a premium metal unibody construction which also has an IP54 rating. The mobile flaunts a 5.3-inch IPS QHD (2560 x 1440) polarized display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform paired with 4GB of RAM. For storage, you get 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using microSD card.

Nokia 8 boasts dual camera setup at the rear with the dual-sight camera mode. The mobile was launched in India with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, though the phone has already received Android 8.0 Oreo update. Connectivity wise, the mobile supports 4G LTE network that will work with every Indian telco 4G bands. You also get VoLTE support for making HD voice calls.

Nokia 5 gets price cut of Rs 1000

Nokia 5 was launched in India as an offline exclusive model, but later made the 3GB RAM variant available via online stores. The mobile got a smooth, minimalist metal unibody structure and flaunts a 5.2-inch IPS LCD HD 1280 x 720 display. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. For storing all your media content the mobile comes with 16GB of internal storage. You can further upgrade the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

Nokia 5 comes with a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie front camera. The device came with 4G LTE network support along with VoLTE. The mobile was launched with Android Nougat OS out of the box and has already received Android 8.0 Oreo in India.
