Moto Z2 Force launched in India with Shatterproof design, Moto mods

It’s unavoidable, slipping phone from your pocket and getting a crack on the beautiful screen. Well, there is a solution for that, buy the all new Moto Z2 Force. The Lenovo-owned mobile vendor Motorola has launched Moto Z2 Force android smartphone in India. The limited edition phone will come bundled with its unique Moto mod – the Moto TurboPower Pack Mod.

Going up against the likes of OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Motorola has priced the Moto Z2 Force at Rs 34,999. As said earlier, the phone will come bundled with Moto TurboPower Pack Mod (3490 mAh battery) which usually cost around Rs 5999. The mobile will be available exclusively via Flipkart and the first sale will happen from 16th February 2018.

The Shatterproof display and Performance

Let’s dig deep into the specification, Moto Z2 Force got a sleek unibody design with a 7000 series aluminium build. Moving to the main attraction, the 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) POLED display that’s actually shatterproof. Just like its older cousin Moto X Force, the company guarantees the display won’t crack or shatter. Actually, the company is offering a warranty of four years for the shatterproof display and lens. In addition to the well-protected display, the whole body is wrapped in water-repellent nano-coating.

Under the hood, the Moto Z2 Force is powered by a 2.35 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 6GB of DDR4 RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. It also bundles a Natural Language Processor and a Contextual Computing Processor. For storing all your media content, the mobile carries 64GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 2TB using microSD cards.

Camera and Connectivity

Following the trend, Motorola has gone for a dual camera setup at the back for Moto Z2 Force. You get a pair of 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 image sensors for the rear camera. While one of the two sensors captures RGB colour images, the other one is exclusive for monochrome capturing. They also feature f/2.0 aperture, Zero Shutter Lag, PDAF, laser autofocus, and a CCT dual-LED flash.

Up in the front, for selfie addicts, the Moto Z2 Force comes with a 5-megapixel camera. It has 85-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and a dedicated flash support.

Coming to connectivity, the Moto Z2 Force supports 4G LTE that can work with every Indian telcos 4G band. The mobile also comes with VoLTE support for making HD voice calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2 (which will be upgraded to Bluetooth 5 after Android Oreo), and NFC.

The mobile will launch with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out-of-the-box, but will soon be upgraded to Android Oreo. For extra security, there is a fingerprint scanner up front which also doubles as the navigation button for the phone. The whole device is fuelled by a 2730 mAh battery that can last easily for a day use. With its 15W TurboPower charging, you can get hours of power in minutes.

Moto Mods

By default, Motorola will be bundling the Moto Z2 Force with a Moto TurboPower Pack Mod. It will add another 3490mAh battery for the device, that’s more than enough for one-to-two days of phone usage.

The company has earlier debuted newest generation Moto mods including JBL SoundBoost 2 and Moto GamePad Mod in India. The JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod can instantly add a stereo sound speaker mastered by JBL to your smartphone. Whereas, the Moto Gamepad can add a full-fledged gamepad to your phone.
