Replacing those full HD display with HD display, keeping only one single 13-megapixel camera on the back and a small cut out in the processor power. That’s the new Lenovo PHAB 2 phablet from Lenovo, a toned down version of the recently launched PHAB 2 Plus phablet.

On to the pricing, the Lenovo PHAB 2 gets a price tag of Rs 11,999, a Rs 3000 less than the PHAB 2 Plus phablet. The phablet will be available exclusively via Flipkart starting 9th December 2016. If your little style conscious then the phablet will come in Gunmetal Grey and Champagne Gold colours.

So what’s all toned down in the phablet? The Lenovo PHAB 2 got the exact design language of Lenovo PHAB 2 plus with an all metal aluminum alloy unibody design. The major changes are all under the hood. The phablet now flaunts a 6.4-inch HD wide-view IPS display with a pixel density of 227ppi. The phablet is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. To store all your photos, videos and documents the phablet comes with 32 GB onboard storage option. The storage can be further expanded up to 128 GB using microSD card.

On to the photography side, the Lenovo PHAB 2 got a single 13-megapixel camera on the back. It features LED flash and PDAF. On front for selfie lovers, the phablet comes with the 5-megapixel camera featuring an 85-degree wide-angle lens. The phablet also comes with augmented reality (AR) effects on its camera app. The phablet got a hybrid dual-SIM slot that can be used either for dual SIM or a single SIM with a microSD card.

Connectivity wise the Lenovo Phab 2 got 4G LTE supporting all Indian 4G bands along with VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks along with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. The phablet runs on Android 6.0, Marshmallow operating system. To power the big phablet, Lenovo packed a 4,050mAh battery underneath.

Another big feature of Lenovo Phab 2 is the support for Dolby Atmos. It can offer surround sound for your movie and games. The phablet also comes with Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 support. Using these you can record audio in 360-degree immersive quality as its coupled with 3 built-in microphones.
