5G is coming, and you would probably get a taste of its speed and usability in the year 2021. Reliance Industries (RIL) during the 43rd Annual General Meet (AGM) has announced Jio 5G, the Made in India 5G solution. If taking the word of Mr Amabani, a “world-class 5G service in India”. It also backs India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Jio has created a complete 5G solution from scratch. It will enable Jio to launch a world-class 5G service in India using 100 per cent homegrown technologies and solutions. Most of the Jio’s 4G and 5G technologies are powered by several core software technologies and components that have been developed right here in India by young Jio software engineers.
The Made in India 5G solution from Jio will be ready for trial, once India opens up 5G spectrum for the telcos. Also, this Jio 5G solution can be ready for field deploy by next year. Thanks to Jio’s converged all IP network architecture and extensive fibre assets the telco can upgrade their existing 4G network to 5G with ease.
Talking about Jio 5G possibilities, it can provide realistic solution across multiple industry verticals including agriculture, healthcare, education, smart cities, media, financial service, new commerce, and smart mobility.
Jio also plans to take its 5G solution global. Once Jio 5G solution is implemented in India and proven its efficiency, it will be made available to other telcos worldwide, as a complete managed service.
