Indians really loves the open sourced Android, as they prefer Android based smartphone to that of Symbian, Windows, BlackBerry and iOS devices which only have single-digit market shares. Big thanks for International and local brands on releasing a wide variety of Android smartphones under affordable price tags.
Nielsen Informate Mobile Insights, an alliance between Nielsen and Informate Mobile Intelligence, surveyed more than 10,000 Indian consumers in September and October 2012 across 46 cities in India to assess overall usage and device preferences. According to the study India is seeing a dramatic growth in smartphone adoption which is driven by a desire among users to stay connected and have instant access to social networking sites. Thanks to the decreasing device and data costs, coupled with a wide range of features that today’s smartphones offer, readily encourage consumers to trade in their traditional cell phones for more advanced smartphones.
