Watching the live IPL cricket actions on Youtube, or watching Indian TV shows on Youtube Shows, everyone’s favorite video sharing site, YouTube, celebrating its 7th birthday today (May 21st). The journey that begin on May 2005, to become the world’s biggest and most popular video sharing site owned by Google.
On its celebration YouTube has released a video featuring some of its most interesting facts and statics along the seven-year journey.
Some of the interesting stats include –
- 72 hours of video are uploaded every minute with about 4 billion videos viewed daily
- 800 million users accessing Youtube around the world
- Users are watching more than 3 billion hours of video each month
- Over 600 million playbacks on Youtube Mobile
“Like many 7 year olds around the world, we’re growing up so fast! In other words, every single minute you now upload three whole days worth of video instead of two.” YouTube wrote in its blog post.
Over the years, Youtube has been adding lots of new features like live telecast, original video creations, 3D videos, redesigned look and feel, integration with Google+ and more. With more and more features added to Youtube every day, it been rebuilding itself as a complete video sharing platform.
