Xiaomi during the event held in China unveiled another android smartphone – the Mi Note 3 along with the gorgeous Mi MIX 2. Design-wise the Mi Note 3 is basically a Mi 6 packed in a larger 5.5-inch screen. Other than the big screen, the mobile features Snapdragon SoC, 16-megapixel selfie camera which comes with Xiaomi’s new Adaptable AI Beautify mode and 4G with VoLTE support.

The Mi Note 3 price starts at RMB 2,499 or around Rs 24,500 for the 64GB internal storage variant. Whereas the 128GB internal storage variant comes with a price tag of RMB 2,899 or approximately Rs 28,500. There is also a blue colour edition of the 128GB storage variant which is priced higher at RMB 2,999. The company has yet to announce the availability of the mobile in the Indian market.

The Mi Note 3 has the same design of Mi 6 with 4-sided curved glass body and aluminum frame running on the edges. The mobile flaunts a bigger 5-5-inch full HD 1920×1080 display. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. For storage, the mobile carries either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Coming to photography, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 sports the same dual-camera setup from Mi 6. On the back, the mobile got two 12-megapixel camera modules. One 12-megapixel is a wide angle camera module which got a focal length 27mm, f/1.8 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilisation. Whereas the second is a 12-megapixel telephoto camera module with a focal length of 52mm and f/2.6 aperture. The dual-camera setup also offers 2x optical lossless zoom along with a 10x digital zoom.

There is a bit change in the case of the selfie camera. The Mi Note 3 packs a 16-megapixel selfie front-facing camera. It comes with Xiaomi’s new Adaptable AI Beautify mode. It also works flawlessly for facial recognition unlocking.

As for connectivity, the Mi Note 3 supports 4G LTE networks that work with every Indian telco’s 4G band. In addition, the mobile also supports VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR blaster and multi-functional NFC. The mobile runs on Android Nougat with MIUI 9.0 skin over the top. To fuel the whole device a bigger 3,500 mAh battery is included supporting Quick Charge 3.0. For extra security, there is a fingerprint sensor embedded in the front home button.
