Xiaomi to Open India's First Mi Home in Bengaluru on May 20th 2017

“We are extremely excited to announce the first ever Mi Home in India, marking yet another important milestone in Xiaomi’s India journey. We are using the lessons learnt from operating a very successful and lean online channel to offline retail via our Mi Home stores” said Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi & Managing Director, Xiaomi India. “Mi Home stores are built on our Internet+ new retail concept, and will have efficiencies similar to the online channel. We will provide a phenomenal user experience, where Mi Fans will be able to browse and experience our products first-hand at their leisure, before making a purchase. Setting up offline stores will also help to make our products more readily available for buyers across the country.”  he added.

Xiaomi has been keen in establishing their offline presence in India for the past year via partner stores. This strategy is invoked to meet the demands of their quick selling products like Redmi Note 4.  Xiaomi now has its own store in five countries – China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and of course India. Xiaomi assures that Mi Home will never go out of stock and it’s a rare case. In case the inventory runs out, the customer will receive an f-code, so that he or she can place the order on Mi.com.

Key Features of Mi Home

  • Homely feel and comfort to buy Mi Smartphones and accessories.
  • Internet+ retail concept.
  • First-hand Mi product experience.
  • Mi Products will never run out of stock.

So to wrap up Xiaomi’s offline strategy has been successful to a great extent. Even with the fight from existing competitors like VIVO and OPPO, Xiaomi seems to be getting a tighter grip. The addition of a 2nd manufacturing plant, offline partner stores and now the Mi Home aids the same. So do you plan to visit the Mi Home sooner or later? Let us know your experience. Peace!
