Looking for a fitness band that can get you motivated to do the workout. Xiaomi has launched its third-generation Mi Band in India, which is simply called the Mi Band 3. This time around, the company has worked out in-and-out its fitness brand to improve its overall aspects. This includes a bigger clarity display, proper water resistance capability, bigger battery that can last for more than two weeks and many smart features.

Priced exactly the same as Mi Band 2 at Rs 1,999, the Mi Band 3 will be available exclusively via Amazon India and Mi online store. The company also confirmed the availability of its fitness tracker via Mi Preferred Partner stores and Mi Home stores across India in the coming months.

What’s new in Xiaomi Mi Band 3?

Design-wise there isn’t much difference between Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 2. However, you get new three classic strap colour options – graphite black, red and blue. They are soft, made from a skin-friendly thermoplastic elastomer material and easy to wear by any wrist size.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 now flaunts a bigger 0.78-inch OLED black and white display with a resolution of 128 by 80 pixels. The screen can now display WhatsApp, Instagram or any app messages, notifications and SMS. As the OLED screen is a touch-sensitive you can view and reject calls. It also shows next 3-day weather information, set vibrating alarms and get event reminders.

Now to the main utility part in Xiaomi Mi Band 3, the fitness tracking. It can in real-time track and display sports activity, heart rate and other fitness related data. It can monitor step count, heart rate, sleep quality, cycling, swimming, walking and so on. The heart rate sensor can accurately read changes continuously over a 24-hour period. Another interesting feature is the ‘idle alert’ function. It’s very useful in situations where you’re too busy and loses track of time, the band will vibrate, reminding you to get up and take a walk.

Unlike the IP67 rated Mi Band 2, the new Mi Band 3 gets a 5ATM water resistance rating. Thus you could submerge the band in water up to 50 meters, allowing you to conveniently use while swimming and surfing. Powering the capsule is a 110mAh battery, that can last up to 20 days in a single charge.

In addition to this, the Mi Band 3 comes with a wide range of capabilities. You could make most out of the band by connecting and syncing with the Mi-Fit App. With the app, you could customize daily goals, choose an appropriate exercise that works for you and checks your progress, view sleep data, and much more.
