Indian’s love watching videos online, it’s not limited to online movies and music but live IPL matches, funny videos and lots of study materials. According to latest report from comScore Video Metrix India’s total online video consumption has doubled in the past two years to 3.7 billion videos per month.
This exceptional growth has been driven by increase in the number of online video viewers as well as increase in consumption per viewer. According to the report the total online video audience in India has grown 74 percent to 54 million viewers, with the average viewer watching 18 percent more videos and spending 28 percent more time viewing. This all driven by more people using mobile to access internet in high-speed 3G/4G connections and rapid increase in broadband connection and its speed.
Google sites especially Youtube ranked as the top online video destination for video viewing with around 31.5 million unique viewers and accounted for nearly 2.1 billion video views representing more than half the total online video market in India. Which is followed by world’s No1 social network Facebook with 18.6 million unique viewers and Yahoo Sites with 8.2 million unique viewers. Video ad platforms VDOPIA with 6.4 million viewers and TubeMogul with 5.5 million viewers made up to the top five position.
