After the reduction in 2G data rates for both prepaid and postpaid customers in three telecom circles Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh West and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Vodafone India has expanded it to its pan India customer base. Vodafone customer can now enjoy 2G mobile internet at around 80% reduced data charges.
The reduced data rate would be applicable for all prepaid and postpaid customers, who are used to access 2G mobile internet on ‘Pay as you Go’ basis. According to the new reduced data rates they will be charged 2p per 10 KB as opposed to the earlier 2G data charges of 10P per 10 KB. This makes mobile internet more affordable for customers who use 2G data in a limited way and also to customers using monthly 2G data packs, as they now need only to pay an affordable surfing charges on post free usage.
“This 80 per cent reduction in data charges for customers using 2G network is an important step in this direction and we are confident that this move will facilitate in faster adoption and better usage” commented Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India
