After the initial launch in Kochi, Kerala, India’s second largest telecom operator Vodafone India has now officially rolled out its next-generation high-speed 4G LTE network across Mumbai telecom circle. The 4G rollout begins from the Western Suburbs and South Mumbai in a phased manner and will be completed across all parts of Mumbai including the Eastern suburbs and New Mumbai license areas by end March 2016.

It’s the fifth telecom circle where Vodafone 4G has been launched, which follows the earlier launch in Kerala, Mysuru, Kolkata and Delhi & NCR.

Vodafone India expands 4G network across Mumbai

Existing Vodafone customers can get a free upgrade to 4G along with a superfast 4G SIM. Customers can do an instant SIM swap from any of the Vodafone stores and selected retail outlets in Mumbai or can request 4G SIM through a call centre or by SMS 4GSIM to 199. Vodafone India’s 4G LTE network comes under the efficient 1800 MHz band and is built on a strong fibre backhaul which is supported by its own new and superfast 3G services on a modern network of 2100 MHz. This makes Vodafone India to offer 2G/3G/4G services on its own state of the art convergent radio technology offering customers with seamless mobile internet experience.
