Emerging telecom operator, Videocon mobile service is all set to launch 4G LTE service in India by second half of 2013, according to a media report. In the recent held spectrum auction Videocon won liberalized spectrum license in six telecom circles which includes Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana,Gujarat UP west, UP east, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Department of Telecommunications (DOT)  paired and liberalized spectrum which uses the 1800 MHz frequency band that can be used for 2G, 3G and 4G services. Thus operators who won the spectrum license can use it for both voice and data services on 2G, 3G and 4G LTE services. Videocon will be using special 4G based FDD LTE technology to deploy next generation services in the country.

The Telegraph quotes Arvind Bali, director and CEO, Videocon Mobile Services saying “Following a successful spectrum allocation, we seek to provide subscribers with enhanced 4G network across the newly won circles in the second half of 2013 which will enable deliverance of best services and great value-for-money products to consumers.

Liberalized spectrum enables operators to gain more efficiency using the same spectrum resources. Next-generation network technologies enable about 30 times more data capacity than a traditional 2G network, allowing telecos to extend the lifespan of existing spectrum assets and reduce the amount of additional spectrum required

Ready to get hang of the next generation of 4G services, just wait till second half of 2013 as most telecom operators will begin full-scale 4G operation.
