Videocon launches GSM mobile services in Punjab and Haryana

The launch of services in the region is a part of the company’s rapid roll-out of services covering 100 key cities/towns over 100 days – making it one of industry’s fastest sequential rollouts for a Greenfield service provider. Rs 800 Crore Investment in Punjab & Haryana

Videocon envisages investments of around Rs 14,000 crores in Videocon Mobile Services over the next 3 years and plans an investment of around Rs. 800 Crore in Punjab & Haryana. The company will leverage a network of around 2400 BTS at the time of launch to deliver superior services to subscribers across all major towns, national & State highways and important railway routes in the states of Punjab & Haryana including Chandigarh region. Underlining an aggressive roll out plan, Videocon Mobile Services targets to cover 100% of the urban population of Punjab & Haryana and 75% of the rural population in subsequent months. The brand will have a retail presence in over 20,000 outlets in Punjab from day 1 and plans to cover 24,000 outlets within 6 months, while in Haryana it will have 10,000 retail outlets on day 1 and would cover 20,000 outlets within the year, offering easy access to customers across the two states.

Videocon Mobile Services unveiled a range of revolutionary pricing plans that are simple and offer true value. The Rs.399 monthly recharge plan is designed to help subscribers with a fixed monthly mobile bill for their local calls. Subscribers can make an unprecedented unlimited number of free local calls both on the Videocon Mobile Services network as well as to other service provider networks. Under the Rs.149 monthly recharge plan subscribers can make 1 hour of local calls free everyday which translates to customers getting to make 1800 minutes of free local calls every month!
