An Aadhaar card, of course, needs no intro, but what is this new blue coloured Aadhaar card. Well, Aadhaar is mandatory for every living soul in our country and considered the only valid ID proof nowadays. The UIDAI has recently tweeted that now everyone can enrol for Aadhaar – even a newborn child. For this purpose, they have introduced a blue coloured Aadhaar card known as ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card for children below the age of 5. Let’s see the features of the Baal Aadhaar card and how to get your child enrolled for this card.

Baal Aadhaar Card Features – AadhaarForMyChild

The Baal Aadhaar card is almost similar to a regular Aadhaar card, but not entirely the same. A child below 5 years of age can get enrolled, but their biometrics info like fingerprints and Iris scan are not collected during the process. However, to get enrolled the child should have a birth certificate and one of their parents must have a valid Aadhaar card. Moreover, once your child reaches 5 years of age, the biometric data needs to be updated from an enrollment centre.
