Tata Teleservices mobile subscribers will begin transitioning to its new owner Bharti Airtel network under an Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) arrangement. Both telcos have recently announced the merge of Consumer Mobile Businesses of Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited into Airtel.

The first stage of the transition will affect Tata’s mobile subscribers in UP (West), Bihar and West Bengal telecom circles. In the coming weeks, all the subscribers of Tata Teleservices across all the telecom circles will be transitioned to the Airtel’s network.

The transition will be seamless as Tata’s mobile subscribers can use their existing SIM cards itself. So, their won’t be a need for a SIM swap or MNP port out. Also, you will be billed as per your current mobile plans with Tata Teleservices. Prepaid customers can avail the same benefits under their current mobile pack while on the Airtel network. For postpaid customers, their monthly billing amount will remain the same.

The merger between the two telcos is going through necessary regulatory clearances. This includes the approval from Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), stock exchanges, National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), and Telecom Department (DoT). Earlier this month
