India’s most trusted brand TATA is entering the Indian e-commerce race with the launch of Tata CLiQ. The e-commerce platform will be part of Tata Unistore, a business venture by the Tata Group. Tata CLiQ will officially launch its website, mobile site and mobile apps (Android and iOS) on 27th May 2016.

Tata CLiQ will offer an omnichannel shopping experience to customers through its online e-commerce platform as well as its brick-and-mortar stores. At the start, Tata CLiQ will offer consumers products under apparel, electronics and footwear categories, which will then be expanded to more categories, brands, and new features in the next few months.

Tata group is no stranger to Indian retail market as it already operates Trent and Infiniti Retail. Trent operates Westside a retail chain, Star Bazaar a hypermarket chain and Landmark a family entertainment format store. On the other hand, Infiniti Retail operates Croma a chain of multi-brand electronics stores across India and an e-commerce website.

Tata also owns and run the popular Titan, which offers watches, jewelry, sunglasses, wallets, bags, belts, fragrances and helmets and more.

A name that says shopping online is now so easy and trustworthy, that all it takes is a click,” said Ashutosh Pandey, chief executive officer, Tata CLiQ.”The ‘Q’ in the logo represents a magnifying glass – a visual representation of the brand’s focus on curating only the best brands and products”.

Recently only another Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd entered the Fashion and Lifestyle e-commerce business with the launch of AJIO.
