Samsung BADA OS Vs iOS – Comparison

With Samsung clearly stating in their BADA homepage that their intention in creating the OS is not to compete with the existing OS leaders in the market, but to provide cost-effective solutions for people who want to explore the various possibilities of Smart phones; the comparison between BADA with iOS seems evil. But as buyers want to analyze every possible option before setting out to get the perfect phone for them, the comparison becomes inevitable and so this article.

Samsung BADA

Samsung with its wave series has created waves (literally) with the Bada (Korean for Ocean and Seashore) OS. Mainly focused at low-cost smart phones, the BADA OS looks quite similar to the already famous Android OS with some differences. Although the BADA OS is here for quite some time (10 years as Samsung say) it has been recently developed into a full-fledged OS and incorporated in some of the Samsung phones. BADA although not as popular as other OS like iOS, Android or Windows has received good reviews from the users.

Apple iOS

Apple on the other hand is the ultimate in mobile OS with its smooth and clean and the most advanced OS for mobile devices in the world, as some people say. Saying that, the question that pops up in our minds is that- Will Bada be able to outperform iOS? And the answer is- Yes, in many aspects!

BADA Vs iOS

Speed And UI:

The iOS beats BADA by a large margin with its smooth and clean UI. Also with one of the best processors A5, there is no way ëWave devicesí can challenge the ëking of cell-phones.

Architecture

BADA has been designed on a brilliant architecture which is a good match for the Apple iOS. Hence there is a tie in terms of build architecture.

Social Integration

The Apple iPhone lacks in Social networking integration. With only the Twitter status available in the home screen, and the option to add more separately, iOS might become quite irritating as following each site will need separate widgets and login etc. BADA on the other hand integrates all your social networking needs under one roof and provides you with the option to access them at one go!

Cloud Integration:

The round goes to iOS as the judges unanimously chose iOS as the winner. With the iCloud service, one can integrate various iServices under one hood like contacts, calendars, email, iTunes, documents etc. BADA has to go a long way to go to even match with iOS in this ground.

Energy Efficiency:

With BADA in your mobile, you can be rest assured about battery life. In short, for the same mAh, (1400mAh, letís say) a BADA device will work considerably longer than an iDevice. BADA is really a boon for those who stay outside without any access to power supply (even if you have, it doesnít look cool to charge your phone every minute) as the energy consumption is very low.

Multi Tasking

Multi tasking in an iOS device is not something people like and with many conceptions and misconceptions, the same remains mystery to a larger lot. BADA on the other hand provides smooth and comfortable multitasking abilities which are far superior to iOS. So listen to your favorite track while you are searching for the nearest restaurant near your locality.

Flash Support

This may seem like mocking Apple, but the harsh truth is lots of websites nowadays use flash; thousands and thousands of people watch YouTube videos every day.’ So we need flash in our devices. BADA supports flash. Enough said.

Applications:

With the iStore, apple has the advantage of thousands of applications for the iOS users. BADA on the other hand is new and hence only a handful number of applications have been developed for it so far. However it can still take on iOS as it provides some good FREE applications.

Cost:

BADA devices are priced considerably low as compared to other OS with the same hardware configurations. With some as low as $120, BADA has an upper-hand as compared to costly iPhones. (above $600)
