Blackberry Playbook OS 2.0

The much awaited, latest version of BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is now available for download and update for PlayBook tablet owners. RIM is struggling and needs to get back to the competitive tablet market which is ruled by Apple iPad and Google Android tablets. The new Blackberry playbook OS 2.0 brings a wagon of new features, like  built-in email, calendar and contacts, full social integration in calendar and contacts, BlackBerry Bridge functionality that allows users to use there BlackBerry smartphone as a remote control for PlayBook and lots more exiting features. As the new OS supports Android apps to a greater extend an array of new apps have been added to the BlackBerry App World, and also a new BlackBerry Video Store is also being launched today.

The new build in  built-in email, calendar and contacts allows users to quickly manage all of their email accounts with a unified inbox, manage schedule with new features like a People View of day (which lets users quickly see everyone who is on their agenda for that day) social hub that contains information from popular social networks including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Contact cards are dynamically populated with the latest real-time information from users Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts to create a consolidated view of users contacts most recent updates.

With the release of BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, their has been lots of enhancements to the Video Chat app which include an improved user interface, integration with the new Contacts app, new ways to invite contacts to Video Chat and the ability to display a video chat on a HDMI display. Another interesting feature built-in BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 includes Open On. This convenient functionality allows users to open documents, photos and links from ones BlackBerry smartphone onto their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with one click.
