With the introduction of one of India’s best budget-friendly 4G VoLTE smartphone, the Redmi 5A, Xiaomi has partner non-other than Reliance Jio for a luring mobile plan to make the smartphone worth your money spent.
Introducing the “Better Together Offer” from Reliance Jio and Xiaomi which will effectively bring down the cost of Redmi 5A to Rs 3,999. The telco will also pack a special Rs 199 Jio plan offering unlimited voice calls, SMS and 4G data benefits (1GB per day).
The Rs 3,999 Redmi 5A
Under the ‘Better Together Offer’ you could get the Redmi 5A at an effective price of Rs 3,999. You actually need to purchase the smartphone at its retail price of Rs 4,999. Jio will then offer a flat Rs 1000 cash back on the device, but with its own terms and condition.
The catch is that you need to recharge continuously for 12 months with a minimum amount of Rs 199, the special Jio plan. After 12 months, the telco will give you Rs 1000 cash back credited to your Jio account. However, you can’t use up the entire cash back together, nor the cash back is in the form of direct money. Instead, you will get 10 cash back vouchers each worth Rs 100 value. You can only use the cash back vouchers for future recharges. It’s somewhat similar to the telcos triple cash back offer launched a few weeks ago.
The Rs 199 Jio Plan
Reliance Jio has also introduced a special mobile plan for Redmi 5A buyers. Under this plan, you get unlimited voice calls, unlimited SMS (100 SMS per day) and unlimited 4G data benefits. There is, however, a speed limit after 1GB of daily data usage. The mobile plan will come with a validity of 28 days.
However, the special Rs 199 Jio plan will be available for customers for the first 12 months. After 12 months they need to opt for other Jio mobile plans.
The other restrictions
The Rs 1000 cash back in the form of 10 vouchers (Rs 100 each) will be credited to your Jio account and will be visible under My Vouchers in MyJio app. These vouchers can be redeemed, one at a time, against recharges of Rs 309 and above Jio plans, and against Rs 201 and above data add-ons. The validity of the vouchers will end on 30th November 2019.
Further, the offer is valid only to new Jio customers. Also, they need to do their first recharge between 5th December 2017 to 30th November 2018.
