Once again challenging incumbent operators recent tariff plans, Indian telco Reliance Jio has updated its mobile plans under the Happy New Year 2018 offer. With the new plans, the telco is essentially bringing down the cost of per GB of data to around Rs 4. For existing mobile plans the telco is offering up to 50 percent more data.
Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year 2018 plans are divided into two different data usage scenarios. Most of these new mobile plans are essentially older Jio plans with either Rs 50 discounted rate or offer 50 percent extra data usage. These plans are categorised mainly under those offering 1GB data per day packs and 1.5GB data per day packs.
The 1GB Per Day Packs at Rs 50 Lower
For the 1GB Per Day Packs, Jio is discounting its popular Rs 199, Rs 399, Rs 459 and Rs 499 tariff plans by Rs 50. Now the cheapest monthly plan from Jio will cost Rs 149 and offers 1GB data per day for 28 days. It’s also the cheapest monthly 4G data plan from any telco in the country right now.
Next in line is the Rs 349 plan which offers 1GB data per day for 70 days. Similarly, the Rs 399 and Rs 449 mobile plans offer 1GB data per day for 84 days and 91 days respectively.

The 1.5GB Per Day Packs or 50% more Benefits then existing packs
If you are among those, who want more and more data per day, then Jio has updated it’s existing tariff plans (launched new) to add 50 percent more data benefits. There are four mobile plans which offer 1.5GB data per day with varying validity options.
The Rs 198 mobile plan comes with 1.5GB data per day or 42GB of data for 28 days. Whereas, the Rs 398 plan offers 105GB of data with daily usage of 1.5GB for a period of 70 days. The Rs 448 plan will offer 126 GB of data for 84 days and Rs 498 plan will offer 136GB of data with a validity of 91 days.

Each of these eight new Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year 2018 plans come with other freebies too. You get unlimited voice calls to any network in India and it’s unlimited even on roaming. In addition, these plans will have unlimited SMS benefits but limited to 100 SMS per day. You will also get complete premium access to Jio suite of apps.
The above Happy New Year 2018 plans from Reliance Jio will be available starting 9th January 2018. To recharge for the plan, you need to be Jio Prime member, which you can become by doing a one-time recharge of Rs 99.
This new tariff plans from Reliance Jio will surely heat up the already worsen data tariff war. Incumbent operators especially Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular will bleed more money to retain their customer base attracted towards Jio’s cheaper 4G plans.
