Reliance Communications , India’s largest and only telecom operator offering nationwide CDMA and GSM mobile services, unveiled its first of the many initiatives lined up as a part of its 100 day celebratory period of achieving the 100 Mn customer landmark. Under the first-of-its-kind offer, valid on Sunday, the 28th of March, 2010, 100 Mn Reliance customers would be able to avail 24 hours of free local and STD calling across 24,000 towns and 6 lakh Indian villages on its nationwide wireless network.

As part of this special one day offer, Reliance Communications is offering unlimited calling (including local, STD and Roaming) free of cost on the Reliance network. In terms of size of inventory, this is one of the biggest celebratory airtime inventory ever offered by any telecom operator worldover on a single day. The unique one-day offer will be available to all new and existing Reliance customers across CDMA, GSM and Hello services on March 28th 2010.

Commenting on the celebratory offer for 100 Mn Reliance customers, Mahesh Prasad – President, Reliance Communications said, “We are truly humbled by the trust conferred on us by our customers. This is a small gesture to appreciate and express our gratitude to our 100 million customers – the biggest such offering ever made available anywhere in the world.”

On March 15th 2010, Reliance Communications became India’s 2nd operator and the 4th operator in the world to serve over 100 Million customers in a single country. The company has set a target to achieve the Next 100 Million customers on its wireless network in a record time of 1000 days, i.e. half the time taken to achieve First 100 Mn customers after launching nationwide mobile services.
