During the Beat Drop 2020 event, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched two new audio products – Redmi Earbuds 2C and Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones in India. Both wireless earphones can offer up to 12 hours of music playback, comes with support for Google Assistant and even IPX4 rated making them sweat and splash resistance.

Talking first about the pricing, the Redmi Earbuds 2C is priced at Rs 1299, which according to the company is an introductory price and will shoot up to Rs 1499 within a few months. The earbuds are available exclusively through Amazon India, Mi online store, Mi Home stores and Xiaomi’s offline retail partners across India.

On the other hand, the Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones are priced at Rs 999, which is also an introductory offer, and soon will be changed to its actual price tag of Rs 1299. The earphone is available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart, Mi online store, Mi Home stores and Xiaomi’s offline retail partners across India.

Redmi Earbuds 2C

Redmi Earbuds 2C is a true wireless stereo or TWS earbuds with a sleek, compact and lightweight design (4.1g per earbud), yet stylish with its mats finish. These earbuds are IPX4 rated making them sweat and splash-proof.

As for connectivity, the Redmi Earbuds 2C supports Bluetooth 5.0 with an operating distance of 10 metres. The earbuds auto-switch on and connect to your phone just as you take them out of the case. By default, the earbuds enter dual-mode or stereo mode when you take out of the case. However, you can switch to the mono mode by putting one earbud back in the case. There is a single button on the earbud that can do multiple functions including play/pause music, answer/end call, reject a call, turn on Google Assistant, mute/unmute, switch between two calls, and switch from earbuds to the device.

Redmi Earbuds 2C packs an improved DSP Environmental Noise Cancellation technology that can effectively filter out ambient noise to deliver a clear, crisp and transparent sound voice calls.

The Redmi Earbuds 2C carriers a 43mAh battery (per earbud) and can deliver four-hour music playback with a single charge and up to 12-hours battery life with included charging cases which comes with 300mAh battery inside. It would take around 1.5-hours to fully charge the earbuds and around 2-hours to charge the charging case via a Micro-USB cable.

Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones

The Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones features a lightweight neckband with Flexi-Arc design curves. The earphones are also IPX4 rated, making them sweat and splash-proof. Under the earphone, it has a 9.2mm dynamic driver that delivers high-quality sound and SonicBass. With dual-mic Environmental Noise Cancellation, it can suppress environmental noise during calls. It also features dual pairing, allowing you to have active switching between two devices automatically.

As for connectivity, the Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphone supports Bluetooth 5.0 with around 10 metres of operating distance. The earphone comes with multi-function buttons on the neckband that can do multiple functions including play/pause music, answer/end call, reject a call, turn on Google Assistant, mute/unmute, switch between two calls, and switch to phone during calls.

Finally, the Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones carries a 120mAh battery that can offer up to 12-hour music playback. It would take around 2-hours to completely charge the earphone via the provided micro-USB cable and has a standby time of around 200 hours.
