After teasing its new Android smartphone for weeks in TV commercials and other ads, Panasonic has finally launched its flagship P81 Android smartphone in India. Featuring the true Octa-Core processor, 5.5 inch HD display, 13 megapixel camera, dual-SIM variant and finally with a price tag of Rs 18,999.
Panasonic P81 features a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels that’s sharp at every viewing angle. It is powered by a 1.7GHz true octa-core processor, probably made by MediaTek coupled with a 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD. On the back it spots a 13 megapixel camera which has f/2.2 aperture, a 28mm wide-angle lens, and LED flash. On the front it got a 2 megapixel camera from taking selfie and video chatting.
On the connectivity side Panasonic P81 supports 3G (HSPA+) network along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP, Micro-USB 2.0, and FM radio with RDS. The smartphone is a dual-SIM variant that supports dual standby mode.
On the software side P81 smartphone runs on an old Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and is upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat, but company hasn’t given any timeline of when the update will come. Panasonic runs it’s own Play Life UI on top of Android. The smartphone is packed with lots of app including Gesture Play – drawing gestures on the screen will open specific apps, Dual Play – Dual window operation, Pop-i Player, Multi Play – multiple apps side-by-side loading and Smart Ringer – that makes easier to answer calls.
Panasonic P81 Android smartphone is priced at Rs 18,999 and will be available in all leading online and offline retailers.
