Why get bored doing nothing or listening to the odd music set by the driver while traveling on a cab? If you are booking your next ride on Ola Cabs then, it’s all going to change.
Ola Cabs has launched an in-cab entertainment platform dubbed as ‘Ola Play’ that lets you enjoy music, TV shows, radio and more in your cab. It even allows you to control the air conditioning. The company touts it to be the world’s first connected car platform for ridesharing.
Ola’s proprietary in-car and cloud technologies are powering the Ola Play platform. Ola has partnered with Qualcomm to built the platforms hardware part. It offers customers an immersive ride experience with a range of infotainment options and enhanced driver assistance. Once you get into an Ola cab, you can control music, change radio, watch TV shows, control air conditioning, and other features. You will also get free access to high-speed internet in the cab.
For the connected entertainment contents, Ola has partnered with Apple Music, Sony LIV, All India Bakchod (AIB), audio compass and Fynd. You can sync your Apple Music playlist or Sony LIV TV shows directly with Ola Play ecosystem and enjoy it while on a ride. Third-party developers will also be able to develop apps for Ola Play.
“The entire Ola team is proud to launch Ola Play, the world’s first connected car platform for ridesharing. I believe this will completely transform the consumer’s ride experience, giving the user the power to control the interactions within the car and usher in a new era in the ridesharing industry,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder, and CEO at Ola. “With over 60 million minutes spent in Ola rides every day, the impact on consumer comfort, convenience and productivity can be transformative. This will further propel ride-sharing as the first choice of mobility for many more millions,” he added.
