With dual camera smartphones coming to the mainstream, Chinese mobile vendor Nubia has launched its first dual camera mobile Nubia Z17 mini in India. Currently, only the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant will be available out here in India. On paper the mobile pack’s decent specification including full HD display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB of RAM, dual camera setup and essential 4G with VoLTE support.
Nubia Z17 mini is an Amazon India exclusive and comes with a price tag of Rs 19,999. The first sale for the smartphone starts on 12th June 2017 at 5 PM.
Design and Performance
The Nubia Z17 mini got a metal unibody design with only 7.45mm thickness and 155 grams weight. The mobile flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD display with a pixel density of 424PPI and high contrast ratio of 1500:1. To safeguard the screen you get the Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, the Nubia Z17 mini is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. To store all your photos, videos and other media content the mobile carries 64GB of onboard storage. You can further expand the storage up to 200GB using microSD card.
Dual Camera
Talking about the main USP of Nubia Z17 mini is its 13-megapixel dual camera at back. One sensor used for clicking photos in RGB, and the other in monochrome. Additionally, the sensor used is a Sony IMX258 sensor, packing 16 levels of focus with aperture ranging from f1 to f16 and got 0.1-second PDAF Hybrid focus. With the camera, you can capture DSLR-like bokeh effect or blurred background effect. The extra bumped rear camera housing is protected with Sapphire Glass making it scratch resistance.
For selfie addicts, the Nubia Z17 mini carries a 16-megapixel camera. It features Sony sensor, f2.0 aperture and around 90 beauty filters to choose from. In addition, you can also apply beauty filters in real-time while doing video chat or when going live on Facebook Live or Youtube Live.
Connectivity
Coming to connectivity, the Nubia Z17 mini support 4G LTE that works with every Indian telco 4G bands. In addition, you also get VoLTE for making HD voice and video calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network option, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. The mobile runs on Android Marshmallow OS with Nubia UI 4.0 skin over the top.
Adding an extra layer of security Nubia Z17 mini comes with fingerprint scanner placed at the back. The device carries 2950 mAh battery with support for fast charging technology. For audiophiles out there, you can listen to music or movies in surround sound as the mobile packs DTS audio technology.
