The ZTE-owned mobile vendor Nubia has launched the nubia M2 Play android smartphone in India. It’s the third smartphone in the M Series, right in the middle of nubia M2 and nubia M2 lite. On a quick glance the mobile features HD display, Snapdragon SoC, 13-megapixel camera, expandable storage and 4G with VoLTE support.

First, on the pricing, nubia M2 Play is placed in the lower mid-range segment with a price tag of Rs 8,999. As always, the mobile will be available exclusively via Amazon India.

The nubia M2 Play is essentially a watered down version of nubia M2, but carries better hardware than nubia M2 lite. The mobile got a metal unibody design with double diamond edge-cut frame. It has a very slim profile with a thickness of 7.9mm. The mobile flaunts a 5.5-inch LCD HD 1280×720 display with 2.5D glass over the top.

Under the hood, you could find an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor (4 cores at 1.4GHz and 4 cores at 1.1GHz) paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. To store your media content the mobile comes with 32GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

Coming to photography the nubia M2 Play sports a 13-megapixel rear camera. It features Sony CMOS sensor with a f/2.2 aperture, hybrid autofocus, Intelligent Noise Reduction + 3D Noise Reduction and LED flash support. The NeoVision 6 image engine in the mobile comes with an updated Clone Camera 2.0, Macro Camera 2.0 and DNG Camera 2.0.

For selfie addicts, the mobile carries a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It features 84-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.4 aperture and packs various camera modes like Beauty mode, HDR 4.0 etc.

As for connectivity, the nubia M2 Play adopts hybrid SIM slot which either can be used for dual SIM or one SIM with one microSD card. The mobile supports high-speed 4G LTE networks that work with every India telco’s 4G band. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth. The whole device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with nubia UI 5.0 skin on top.

To fuel the device you get a 3000mAh lithium-ion polymer battery which comes with NeoPower 2.5 technology. For extra security, it got a fingerprint scanner embedded in the front home button.
