Nokia introduced the refreshed Symbian^3 operating system – Symbian Anna. Previously referred to as PR2 by the company, the update brings a bunch of features like new browser, new icons, an on-screen portrait qwerty keyboard and more up to 50 enhancements to the Symbian OS, and, in Nokia’s own words – its purpose is “renewing Symbian smartphones.”

Main Features Include

  • Brand New icons: Nokia has updated most of there Icons with brand new one giving it a great look
  • Portrait QWERTY mode: Improved the text input through Portrait QWERTY mode enhancement and also new split-screen typing
  • Updated Web Browser: Nokia updated there web browser to Version 7.3 which brings much better performance, and, also various  touch and interface improvements.To say they have improved a lot on it.

  • Email and IM enhancements: Microsoft Communicator Mobile support, as well as other email enhancements.
  • Enhanced Ovi Maps,Ovi Store and Ovi Suite : Nokia has updated there Ovi Maps to brings smart search, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare check-ins, updatable/downloadable maps via Wi-Fi, and public transport networks. Ovi Store updated with improved search, including auto-complete, spell-checking and Internet search engine optimization and other bug fixes. Ovi Suite on PC got updated with improved device software update feature as well as the ability to download free street maps, new music and mobile apps
  • Enhanced Social: Updates in contact card, ability to retweet and view follower list in Twitter, higher resolution image uploads, ability to add caption to images
  • Improved Photo Gallery interface
