Thought Microsoft brought the whole of Nokia, you are mistaken. The original Nokia (which was not bought by Microsoft) has launched the N1 android tablet. Featuring some stunning design (many resemblance to iPad mini), 7.9 inch QXGA display, powerful 64 bit Intel hardware and running the latest Android 5.0 lollipop operating system along with Nokia’s Z Launcher.

Nokia offers what the company is best known for, incredible sturdy build quality. Nokia N1 tablet comes with a single piece of anodized aluminum design along with zero air-gap display. Yet the tablet is just 6.9mm thick and weighs only 318 grams. One can opt for two impressive colour options natural aluminum or lava gray.

Coming to the hardware part Nokia N1 spots a 7.9 inch IPS LED QXGA display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a screen resolution of 2048×1536 pixel. Covering the fully laminated zero air-gap display there’s the tough Gorilla glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the N1 tablet comes with 2.3 GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 533 MHz PowerVR G6430 GPU unit. This hardware will make sure the tablet runs ultra smooth with any sort of apps or games.

On the back of N1 tablet, we got a 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and on the front a 5 megapixel camera with fixed focus. The tablet comes with 32GB internal storage. On the bottom of the tablet, two 0.5W stereo speakers sit along with a Type-C reversible Micro-USB connector in the middle. On the connectivity side the tablet supports WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

On the software side the Nokia N1 tablet runs on latest Android 5.0 lollipop operating system with Nokia’s Z Launcher (Zlauncher.com) on top. The launcher offers some unique features like Scribbling a letter on display to open an app, it learns and show the right apps at the right time and more.

Nokia N1 will launch initially in China for a price tag of $249 (Rs 15,400) and will roll out to Europe and India around the end of 2014.
