The icon is back. The tough, the durable, phone that we loved so much is back. Nokia has brought back the classic with a modern influence – Nokia 3310. The phone has been launched by HMD Global, the mobile vendor who has the exclusive Nokia brand licensing rights in mobile phones.

First, to the pricing, the Nokia 3310 will retail at EUR 49, that’s around Rs 3500 and will be heading to India by Q2 2017. As for variants, there will be both single SIM and dual SIM variants. If you are looking for some extra style option, the mobile will come in four distinctive colours. This includes the Warm Red and Yellow, both with a gloss finish, and Dark Blue and Grey both with a matte finish.

Modern twist on design

So what’s changed? The new Nokia 3310 keeps the classic design but now the upper part is changed to a 2.4-inch QVGA polarised and curved screen. The polarised layer over the screen allows better readability even in direct sunlight. Overall the phone got a toughened plastic body covering the front and back. According to the company, the phone is still thin, light and incredibly durable.

The Nokia 3310 runs on the Nokia Series 30+ operating system from the Symbian age. The phone comes with 16 MB of internal storage. But wait you can add a microSD card taking the storage alway up to 32GB. On the back, you get a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash support.

Connectivity-wise, the Nokia 3310 will come in both single SIM and dual SIM variants. But the phone will support only the 2G network. So, there will be no 4G, 3G, and WiFi connectivity. It supports Bluetooth 3.0 with SLAM and comes with Micro USB (USB 2.0). Other than that you have the 3.5 mm AV connector along with support for FM radio.

With Nokia 3310 you can forget about charging it every day. The phones got a removable 1200 mAh battery that can last up to a month in stand mode or can offer up to 22 hours talk time. To bring those old memories, Nokia is packing the classic Snake game on the phone. The game is now colourful, tweaked to the modern age. Time to set a new game score?
