Nokia 2 is finally available in the India market. The mobile will retail for a price tag of Rs 6,999. It will be available across all major offline retail stores in India starting 24th November 2017. You get to choose from three colour options – Pewter-Black, Pewter-White, and Copper-Black.

Striving to capture the mid-range mobile market, HMD Global the company behind Nokia smartphones has unveiled its mid-end smartphone offering, the Nokia 2. The biggest selling points of the mobile is something Nokia has mastered in years. This includes a big battery that can offer 2-day battery life, high-quality build and stock Android experience.

With Nokia 2, HMD Global aims to capture those users who are making their first step from a feature phone to a smartphone. So, the mobile will retail at a price tag of Rs 6,999. As for availability, you will need to wait until mid-November to purchase the mobile.

Design and Performance

Made from 6000 series aluminum, Nokia 2 boasts a solid build quality with a polycarbonate back and aluminum frame. On the front, the mobile flaunts a 5-inch LTPS LCD HD 1280 x 720 display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The LTPS technology used for display helps to improve battery life as it’s 50 percent more power efficient, yet sharp and bright.

Under the hood, the Nokia 2 is powered by the 1.3Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. What makes it different from other android smartphones is the stock Android OS experience. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 operating system with no bloatware or UI skin over the top. In addition, the company guarantee regular security updates for the phone along with an upgrade to next Android version. The mobile also comes with Google Assistant.

For storing your media content, the mobile carries 8GB of internal storage. You can further upgrade the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.

Camera and Connectivity

For photography, Nokia 2 comes with an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera and supports LED flash. For selfie lovers, the mobile carries a 5-megapixel front camera.

Coming to connectivity, the Nokia 2 supports 4G LTE network, which will work with every Indian telco 4G bands. You also get VoLTE support for making HD voice and video calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1.

To fuel the Nokia 2 you get a 4100 mAh battery that easily gives you a 2-day battery life. However, one important thing missing in the mobile is the fingerprint scanner.
