India has become a wretched place for women, everyday we hear news on women abuse from all part of the country. To empower women in India and to provide a sense of safety, India’s CDMA telecom operator MTS India has launched an innovative MTS women MPowered Plan. Women customers opting for this special initiative will get benefits like special calling and SMS rates, calling at negative balance, safety tips and a lot more. In addition MTS will be offering Women customers buying a new prepaid connection with a free pepper spray, so use it when you smell a trouble.
New MTS Women customers can avail the Women MPowered Plan on first recharge (FRC) of Rs 102 and get benefits like special calling and SMS rates, calling at negative balance and safety tips. Existing Women customers can also avail the special benefits by recharging with a special tariff voucher of just Rs 76.
MTS has also set up a Vigilance Team that would provide free self-defense classes to Women customers opting for this plan. Customer who wish to enroll for these classes and also get knowledge on women rights and safety tips, can register by dialing 678 from their MTS mobile phones.

This Women’s Day, we are doing our bit by launching MTS Women MPowered. It includes a range of special initiatives aimed at empowering our women customers. The special MTS Women MPowered Planhas been launched in Delhi NCR and to be subsequently rolled out in other telecom circles.
