If you are a mountaineer planning for an adventure trip to climb the Mount Everest and then make a live video chat with friends from top of it. World’s top mountain peak, Mount Everest gets 4G LTE network coverage as Huawei and China Mobile deployed 4G network top of Mount Everest, 5,200 meters above sea level.

Network equipment manufacturer Huawei and Chinese mobile operator China Mobile worked together to deploy first ever 4G LTE TDD network at the Mount Everest top most base camp allowing mountaineers access to high-speed mobile internet connectivity. 4G LTE TDD network allows high-speed internet browsing, Video and Voice calls facility and fast downloading. Earlier during the 2008 Olympic Games torch relay Huawei worked with China Mobile and others to bring GSM coverage on Mount Everest. Mount Everest also got 3G network connectivity from NCell one of top Nepal’s top telecom provider.

Deep down in India, we are still struggling with 3G network connectivity and hardly any 4G connectivity which is scattered around a few cities in India. We can hope at-least our telecom operators work together to bring full-fledged 3G connectivity around India before moving to the 4G bandwagon.
