In an effort to take on popular Apple iOS and Android, Microsoft at an event in San Francisco unwrapped the all new mobile operating system Windows Phone 8. Five months ago on June Microsoft provided us a sneak preview of  the complete reworked and stylish new Windows phone 8. Microsoft revealed new features of Windows phone, including Kid’s Corner and Rooms, along with details and pricing for a range of beautiful new smartphones from Nokia, Samsung and HTC, each with their own differentiated designs, colors and features.

The new Windows Phone 8 features new Start screen with resizable Live Tiles, new family-focused features like Kid’s Corner and Rooms and the seamless integration with SkyDrive, Skype, and other Microsoft services. The new live lockscreen would help users to pickup wallpapers from online services like Bing and data from the live tiles. Another cool features inbuilt is the Kid’s Corner, which offers a worry-free way for parents to share their smartphones with their kids, a simple swipe activates a protected place on the phone where kids can play on specific apps and features selected by a parent.

Rooms is another feature which is a kind of closed group of friends, among them they can chat and share photos, notes, calendars and other contents. The new Skype app on Windows Phone 8 is more feature rich now, it can now receive calls and messages in the background.

And finally, of course, there’s the hardware. We have a killer lineup of new phones featuring big bright screens, awesome audio capabilities and great cameras from HTC, Nokia and Samsung.”

Windows Phone Store has around 120,000 apps to choose from and more been added daily. Windows Phone 8 devices will be available starting from November 2012 on all major online and offline retailers around the world.
