Revamping it’s not so popular Surface tablets, Microsoft has unveiled two new additions to the Surface family of products Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets along with new Surface accessories. Learning from the mistakes of their first Surface builds Microsoft has significantly updated their Surface tablets which includes improvements to processing power, battery life, display, camera resolution, and to the Kickstand which now comes with dual angles. Their has also been enhancements in the next illustration of the Windows OS – Windows RT 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro that makes the Surface tablet more powerful and customizable.
Surface 2
Surface 2 tablet spots a 10.6-inch ClearType Full HD display that can render 1080p video easily. It’s powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor delivering faster and smoother performance along with extended battery life to up to 10 hours for video playback. It carries a full size USB 3.0 port for convenient external file transfer. It got a 5 megapixel rear camera and 3.5 megapixel front camera, both can shoot 1080p video and has improved low-light performance.
Surface 2 runs on the latest build of Windows RT 8.1, which brings drastic improvements in key areas such as personalization, search, multitasking, built-in apps, the Windows Store experience and cloud connectivity. Surface 2 is available in 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants and pricing starts at $449 (Rs 28,000 approx).
Surface Pro 2
Its one of the full-fledged Windows machine that can run normal software’s and can have it as replacements to laptops. It also spots a 10.6-inch ClearType Full HD display and powered by fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor that delivers increased performance and up to 75 percent longer battery life than last years Surface Pro. It carries full-size USB 3.0 port along with microSD flash drive and Mini DisplayPort. The Docking Station for Surface Pro lets users quickly click-in and connect, turning their device into a full workstation. It also includes Mini DisplayPort video output, three USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port, an Ethernet port, and 3.5mm audio in and out.
It runs on Windows 8.1 Pro that brings improvements in key areas like personalization, search, multi-tasking, built-in apps, the Windows Store experience, and cloud connectivity. Surface Pro 2 will be available in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variant with 4GB RAM and 256GB and 512GB internal storage variant with 8GB RAM. Surface Pro 2 is available for pre-order on official Microsoft Store with a price tag of $899 (Rs 57,000 aprox).
In addition to the revamped Surface tablets Microsoft has unveiled a range of new Surface accessories increasing the overall appeal for the tablets.

- Type Cover 2 – super-thin, lightweight design of the original Type Cover, but now backlit support and available in four colors. With a QWERTY keyboard, a full row of Function keys (F1-F12), shortcut keys, media controls, and trackpad.
