Unlike, the funky zero priced JioPhone, the Micromax Bharat 1 has got a solid build quality and better design. Just like any feature phone you have used, up in the front, you have the small screen and numeric keypad. On the back, you get a smooth plain back cover with the rear camera in the middle.

Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi and GPS. Fueling the device is a 2,000mAh battery.

Micromax Bharat 1 and BSNL Unlimited Plan

Another big advantage of buying the Micromax Bharat 1 is the bundled BSNL unlimited mobile plan. The operator has launched a special Rs 97 unlimited tariff plan for the feature phone.

Under the BSNL Rs 97 unlimited plan, you get unlimited voice calls to any network and anywhere in India. The best part, unlimited calling is free also while you’re on national roaming. Further, you will also get unlimited 3G or 2G data usage with the plan. There is a 5GB FUP limit, after which speed will be reduced to 80Kbps. For SMS you get only 10 SMS for the entire month. The validity of the mobile plan is one-month or 28 days. Note that after first 28 days, the voice calls be charged Rs 1 per minute for both off-net and on-net.

Micromax earlier planned to launch more ultra-affordable 4G VoLTE mobiles with price starting as low as Rs 1,999. A few months ago the company has launched two new android smartphones – Bharat 3 and Bharat 4 with support for 4G VoLTE.

Micromax Bharat 1 would definitely make the Reliance JioPhone and Airtel’s 4G Smartphone less attractive. As the phone cost less, packs lots of features, no carrier restriction (use any networks SIM card) and bundled unlimited voice and data by BSNL.
