Under the hood, the LG V30S ThinQ still packs the old 2.45Ghz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with now upgraded 6GB of RAM. This might come as a disappointment to a lot of consumers who were expecting the much powerful Snapdragon 845 SoC on board. On both variants, you can further upgrade the storage up to 2TB with a MicroSD card. The mobile runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with LG’s UX 6.0 over the top.

The AI Cam can analyse the subject you’re shooting and recommends the optimal shooting mode for enhanced picture quality. Some shooting modes include portrait, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise, and sunset. Each of this shooting mode enhances the characteristics of the subject taking into account factors like the viewing angle, colour, reflections, lighting, and saturation level.

With QLens, you can scan QR codes of products and it will offer a suggestion as to where to buy the product online at the lowest price along with similar items suggestion. The Bright Mode uses algorithms to brighten images and improve low-light shots.

For selfie addicts, the LG V30S ThinQ comes with a 5-megapixel from the camera. It features a 90-degree wide-angle field-of-view with a f/2.2 aperture lens.

Voice AI and audio

Another AI-based addition on LG V30S ThinQ is the Voice AI. It allows you to run apps and change settings just with your voice commands. The company has packed almost 50 commands in the device, out of which, 34 commands are LG exclusive. The Voice AI will also work alongside with Google Assistant, so you could take advantage of both services.

LG V30S ThinQ can record Hi-Fi sound with its 2 high-quality mics and a receiver that can capture unmuffled and distortion-free sound. For the purest audio experience, the mobile comes with 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, powered by ESS technology. This offers crystal clear high-quality sound by minimizing distortion and ambient noise.
