Lava Z50 launched, India’s first Android Oreo (Go Edition) Smartphone

Google’s super optimized Android mobile operating system is finally making its way to India. Lava, one of India’s popular mobile vendor has launched Lava Z50, India’s first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone.

Priced at Rs 4,400 Lava Z50 is one of the perfect 4G smartphone, which also supports VoLTE for HD voice calls. The company has partnered with Indian telecom operator Airtel to bring down the cost of the smartphone to Rs 2,400 with its ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone‘ initiative. The phone will be available to purchase on both online and offline stores across India.

Lava Z50 Features and Specification

Lava Z50 flaunts a 4.5-inch FWVGA display covered in a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass for extra protection. The company is also offering free one-time screen replacement on the smartphone within one year of purchase. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 1.1GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6737m processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 64GB using microSD card.

However, the main attraction of the Lava Z50 is the Android Oreo (Go Edition) OS it runs on. The super optimised Android OS is specially built for smartphones running on a low powered processor and limited RAM. It also bundled Google ‘Go’ edition apps which take less space on your phone but works extra smoothly.

On the photography side, the Lava Z50 sports a 5-megapixel camera at the rear with LED flash support. Similarly, a 5-megapixel camera is equipped in the front which also supported with LED flash. Bokeh mode or blurred background effect is built right into both the front and rear cameras.

On the connectivity side, the Lava Z50 support 4G LTE networks with full support for VoLTE. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Finally, the phone is fuelled by a 2000mAh Li-Polymer battery with support for Super Power Saver Mode.
